Guest Speaker: Doug Layng - Youth Options

Doug joined the Rotary Club of Prospect in 1991 and was President in 1995/96 and again in 2012/13. He has also held Board positions with his club.

He was VTT/GSE Team Leader to Kansas, USA in 2011 and was Chairman for the VTT Scholarships Committee ~ 2013/14.

Doug was an Assistant Governor in 2013/14 and is a Past District Governor (2015/16). He was District Chair of the Rotary Foundation and Zone 8 Assistant Rotary Coordinator for Districts 9500 & 9520 for three years.

Since retirement in 2015 from Daikin Air Conditioning, Doug has been active in the District and his Rotary Club and is currently the President for the third time.

Four years ago, Doug visited Employment Options as it was called then with DG Jane Owens in 2019. Shortly after the visit Doug was approached by the CEO To see if He was interested in joining the board of Youth Options. Doug has been a board member since and Chair of the board for the past two years

Doug is originally from Vancouver and has lived in Prospect with his wife Lynne since 1986.
