Educated Smiles Project

 

The Educated Smiles Project was a Child Sponsorship Project based in a remote rural village in the northern part of Bali, giving children a better start in life. Commencing in 2004, the project was managed by Gawler Light Rotary and the Rotary Club of Bali Sanur. In 2017 it was decided the project had made the difference in the community it could and was wound up as education is provided to children by the government.

 

Sponsorship funds went towards school books and clothes and were distributed on an annual Distribution Day in July. Living in a remote country area, a child's life was transformed, helping them with an education and ensuring their family could have a better future.

Extra money raised went into projects to improve the environment, including

​

• Supply of fresh water to the village

• Improving basic health care

• Improving school amenities

• Increasing educational material
